Wednesday Track Workout

Yes, this is a little late (my apologies) but here is the track workout in case you’ve been following along on your own.

Hi everyone,
We have had a good turnout the first couple of weeks at the track. Be sure to come out and join us whether you have done track workouts in the past or not.
Warmup: 2 laps with drills
Main Set: 4 x 1000, 60s rest between
Cool Down: Jog back to Hoboken
Meet at 9th & Park at 6am or at the track for a 6:15am start. We should be back in Hoboken no later than 7:15.

Hello All,
Our track workouts are now in full swing so be sure to join them now and get yourself ready for the 2011 season.  If you are unsure you can make the whole workout, don’t worry, come and do whatever you can.  All pace groups are welcome and there will be someone running your pace to keep you company.  We leave 9th and Park Ave in Hoboken at 6:00 AM for a 6:15 AM start at the Weehawken track.
This weekend Kristine and Jen will be leading the group ride on Sunday leaving the 14th St Ferry in Hoboken at 10 AM.  These are the perfect leaders for anyone new to the club as both just joined last year and have become very active!  Take advantage and enjoy the great weather.
GC Tri uniforms have been ordered!!!  Our first official GC Tri race kit will arrive hopefully the first week of May.
Finally, the GC Tri official race calendar will be up on our site next week.  Nicci and Rich have been working hard to compile all of the races in the area.  There will also be a form where you can input your “A” races and see who else in the club might be doing those races.

Track Workouts are BACK!

Good morning,
Our track workouts are now officially underway!  We are going to start slow and build up over the next few weeks so that we maximize the workouts and avoid injury.
I want to be clear that everyone is welcome whether you have done the workouts before or not. The workouts are designed to accommodate all runners and we can adjust each workout for individuals at the track. So if you have thought about coming in the past and decided not to because the workout looked intimidating- come now. We have a lot of fun!
Here is this week’s workout:
Warmup: 2 laps with drills
Main Set: 5 x 800 @ 5K pace, 100m walk and 100m jog between
Cool down: Jog back to Hoboken
Meet at 9th & Park at 6:00am to jog to the track or meet us at the track at 6:15.  We should be back in Hoboken no later than 7:15.

Track and Hills

Hi everyone,
We’ll have two run workouts this week:
Tuesday: Hill repeats- meet at Fleet Feet at 6am for a 6:10am start at Stevens. Workout: 10 repeats, led by Michael.
Wednesday: Track Workout- meet at 9th & Park at 6am for a 6:15 start at the track. Workout: 10×400, led by Andrew S.
Please note that this will be the last week of hills. Starting next week the Tuesday & Wednesday morning workouts will combine and we will all move to the track on Wednesday mornings. More details starting next week. Let me know if you have any questions.

Weekly Newsletter

Hi All,

Thanks to all who joined us at One Republik Wednesday night for the monthly social. It is always good to meet new faces and hang out while not in spandex. We will be having monthly socials the last Wednesday of every month so take advantage to hang out with the group while not working out! This weekend Andrew C will be hosting a trainer ride on Saturday morning. He plans to get started at 9 AM so please email him directly to ensure the 4 additional slots don’t get filled up: andrew.corcione at gmail.com. Finally, we need everyone who is purchasing a GC Tri racing kit to contact Rich and submit your sizes. We are about to finalize the order so we want to make sure we get the right thing. Track Workout

Andrew will be leading a track workout tomorrow at 6am from 9th and Park.  The workout will be 3×1 mile descending.  Come on out for the jog to the track in Weehawken.  The workout will start at 615am.
