Weekly News Update 9/20

We had more great race results for our very talented GCTri club members last weekend!  At Buckman Sprint we had Glenn Hartrick (1st OA – 1:11), Juan Carlos Buenano (1:28);  LBI Sprint Triathlon: Dave Cruz (1st OA – 50:34), Lisa Mangino (2nd AG – 1:06); Philadelphia R&R Half Marathon – Jenny Zarzuela (2:20); Westport YMCA Sprint – Heather Cameron (2nd AG – 50:30); One more Tri: Mike Frank (6th OA, 2nd Masters -1:07).  Nicole Ogrosso competed at ITU World Championships in London!

Good luck to our team members racing the Great Six Flags Triathlon and any other races this weekend.

We are a little late organizing the ride options for this weekend.  Please check the club calendar and Facebook page for rides.

We had more great race results for our very talented GCTri club members last weekend!  At Shoreman Half: Rich Miani (5:07 – 5th AG), Dave Pietrangelo (5:13 – 4th AG), Maria Wedgeworth (5:22 – 1st AG), Mike Frank (5:30); Pascack Valley Sprint: Glenn Hartrick (1st OA);  Toughman: Raphael Zagury (4:56 – 7th AG),  Jen Sheppard (5:22 – 4th OA Female, 1st AG), Cheryl Tarbous (6:36), Mark Tsigounis (5:01- 1st Div), Gran Fondo NJ: Dave Doherty, Jim Englert & John Argueta competed.  

Best wishes to Nicole Ogrosso at ITU World Championships in London!  Good luck to our team members racing the LBI Sprint, One More Tri, Trifitness Westport Sprint, Philly Rock & Roll Half Marathon and any other races this weekend. Crush it!

We have a couple options for rides this weekend.  Andrew Corcione will be leading a 60mi ride that will depart 14th St. Pier at 7am on Saturday. If you are looking for a more  friendly paced “muffin” ride, Mike Haskell will be departing the pier at 8:30am on Saturday heading to Piermont.  If you are riding with the group on Thursday mornings, blinking lights are mandatory for your safety – it’s dark out there.  Happy Training!

Weekly News Update 9/6

GCTri rocked the podium again last weekend.  At the Lake George Triathlon: Kevin Portmann (2nd OA, 1st AG), Nicole Ogrosso (4th OA female, 1st AG), Carsten Hansen (24th OA, 5th AG).  Good luck to our team members racing Shoreman, Toughman, Gran Fondo NJ, NY Aquarium Triple Dip and any other races this weekend. 

We have a couple options for rides this weekend.  Lisa Mangino will be leading a 3 hr ride that will depart 14th St. Pier at 7am on Saturday. RJ Boergers will be leading a ride to Piermont (~50mi) on Sunday that will depart the 14th St. Pier at 8am.  Please note that the Tuesday AM rides have been cancelled for the remainder of the year.  If you are riding with the group on Thursday mornings, blinking lights are mandatory for your safety.  Happy Training!

GCTri Takes 2nd Place in TriClub Challenge at IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman

GCTri strikes again!  The very talented crew of club members racing IRONMAN 70.3 Timberman earned another team podium finish in the TriClub challenge.  The team took 2nd place competing in Division III (teams with 100-150 members) of the IRONMAN TriClub Challenge.  Congratulations on your hard work!  You really make us proud!

Weekly Update 8/30

GCTri extends a warm welcome to our newest members: Emily Latimer, Kristen Mulgrew, Patrick Hammond, & Eric Boden. We hope to see you out at the group workouts, socials and races soon!

We had some incredible performances by GCTri club members this past weekend.  Huge congrats to Matt Bach for qualifying for IRONMAN World Championships in Kona with his 1st AG performance (9:42) at IRONMAN Louisville.  We also had:  At  IRONMAN Canada: Glenn Hartrick (10:06), Rev3 Maine: Mike D’Imperio (6:01), Park City Mossman Olympic: Mike Frank (2:24), TriRock Asbury Park: Nicole Ogrosso (1:01 – 1st OA Female), Jenny Zarzuela & Heather Cameron teamed up in the relay (1:10 – 3rd Relay), Carlos Buenano (1:10), John Argueta (1:23), Danielle Rossi (1:34).

Good luck to our team members racing Lake George Triathlon and any other races this weekend.  Have a blast, and race fast!

It’s the holiday weekend so many of our ride leaders are away.  We have a couple of individuals considering leading rides on Monday.  Keep an eye on the club Facebook page or the club calendar on the website for ride options.  Also, for your safety, we are mandating that you have blinking lights for the weekday morning rides.  Happy Training!
