We’ve got an exciting weekend of activities coming up on Saturday. Still itching to get out and ride? – Brad is leading a “B ride” to State Line that will depart the 14th St. Pier at 9am. Interested in fixing your run form??? At 12pm – Carlos is leading the run clinic at the Weehawken track. Can’t resist being social??? At 3pm – we have a club social at Pilsenerhaus & Biergarten (come hang out with the club when they aren’t in spandex).

Have you participated in the nominations for next year’s BOD? PLEASE complete the attached form with your nominations. Self-nominations are just fine. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1p0lEI-5s9jlk0mRjq4DMxvETXa84n61xZc9gdf5Bcb4/viewform The election will be held at the end of November.

Beanies baby! It’s cold out there. Keep your head warm when out training by wearing the new black GCTri beanie from SweatVac. Bring $15 along to the club social and pick one up.

The legendary GCTri holiday party is scheduled for Friday December 5th at 7:30pm at Northern Soul in Hoboken. There will be an optional drink special available for purchase for $30. As usual, this will be pot luck so keep your eyes out for the sign-up sheet which will be coming out soon. There will be some amazing raffle prizes available, and if you’d like to donate something, please let us know. Let’s celebrate our awesome success from 2014 and enjoy hanging with good friends.

NYC Marathon provided another inspiring day for GCTri as we saw outstanding support and camaraderie from our members not racing, and great determination and effort from our members who did race. Congratulations to our 2014 NYC Marathon finishers – Meredith Ryan (4:41), Deb Noble (4:42), Anthony Desantis (4:18), Jenny Zarzuela (5:00), Eva Kovacs (4:50), Howard Miller (5:14).

We have an awesome Education Series Program coming up next Saturday 11/15 @ 12pm at the Weehawken Track. Carlos Garcia is having a Running Clinic for us. He will speak about being more mechanically efficient, show you how to improve your form and provide you with drill work to reinforce the form corrections. You won’t want to miss this.

If you haven’t followed along on FB, Jared has negotiated for us to do group yoga sessions at Devotion Yoga on Hudson Place. We are currently looking for into the following options: A) Tuesday @8pm for up to 17people B) Thursday @8pm for up to 17people C) Saturday or Sunday after 2pm for up to 35 people. Stay tuned for which sessions we end up scheduling.

Weekend rides: Seems like we are thoroughly enjoying the off-season. Unfortunately, our ride leaders haven’t posted any rides for this weekend. It seems like Nicole may ride on Saturday (but a late morning start) and Kristine is looking to ride on Sunday. Follow along on FB as things develop. Remember, everyone can post a workout on the club calendar.

Big ups to our Kona finishers: Jared Tootell (9:33), Carsten Hansen (10:53), Missy Manning (12:44)! Well done folks – we all aspire to be like you one day! Good luck to Lauren Kruk at the Runners World Half Marathon this weekend.

Save the dates: the November social will be on 11/15 in the afternoon (place to be determined). The Annual Holiday Bash will be on Friday December 5th (location to be determined still).

The off-season is the perfect time to work on your deficiencies. If your run can use some work, you will only benefit from the Run Clinic that Carlos Garcia will be having on Saturday 11/15 at Noon (we will go to the social after). Carlos will speak about drills that can help you, will help you find out flaws in your form, and will talk about planning your weekly runs. Please check that you will be attending on the club calendar if you plan on attending so we can adequately prepare.

Weekend rides: On Saturday we have the Tour de Defiant Brewery. The group will depart at 10am for our 30mi ride up to our delicious destination. Please see Lisa Mangino’s emails for full details. For those that can’t make the Brewery ride, John Palmer and Carlos Garcia are riding to State line and will leave at 7:30am on Saturday.
