Weekly News Update 7/19

Last week’s races saw some terrific GCTri club results: Congratulations to GCTri members who finished the Aquaphor NYC Triathlon: Kevin Portmann (15th Elite – 2:05), Derek Barnes (2:36), Lauren Wiest (2:42), Michelle Vargo (2:44), Pam Harinstein; Long Branch Triathlon finishers: Heather Cameron (1:07), Carlos Buenano (1:08); Party with Purpose 5k teammates: Nicole Ogrosso, Maria Wedgeworth, Brad Roberts. Remember to keep sharing your results with us on the website –  http://www.gctri.org/race-results/submit-results/ Good luck to team members racing NJ State Sprint & Olympic Triathlons, Manasquan 1 mile OWS, and all other races this weekend. If you want to order GCTri Hincapie gear, please follow the instructions that Jen has emailed last week.  Please mark your calendars for Nicci Schock’s Nutrition presentation on Monday August 5th at 7pm at Stevens (flyer to come out shortly).  This Saturday Mike Haskell will be leading a 2 hour ride that will leave the 14th St. Pier at 7am.  Please be careful training in this heat.  Happy Training!

Weekly News Update 6/21

Last weekend’s races saw some terrific GCTri club results (and many members looked great too sporting their new Hincapie Race Kits).  Congratulations to GCTri members who finished the Wyckoff-Franklin Triathlon: Jen Sheppard (6th Overall, 2nd AG), Jamie Moreng (1st AG), Lisa Mangino (9th AG), Glenn Hartrick (2nd Overall), Derek Barnes, Marc Hourican (6th AG), Gabby Czernik (3rd overall), Nick Walulik (1st AG).  Congrats to the Long Branch Triathlon finishers: Erik Donohue (1st Overall – Long course), Jamie Brabston (1st AG), Heather Cameron (2nd AG), Nicole Ogrosso (1st AG), Mark Rogers (6th AG), Brad Roberts (4th AG) and Mike Frank (5th AG).  Best wishes to our favorite GCTri past president Andrew Shore at IRONMAN Coeur D’Alene.  Good luck to team members racing IRONMAN Syracuse 70.3, TriRock Philadelphia, Stars and Stripes Aquathon and all other races this weekend. Big thanks to our sponsor, Fleet Feet of Hoboken who held a special sale for our members this week and are distributing the Hincapie gear.  Because of member interest, Jen has opened the online ordering portal for Hincapie gear.  If interested in ordering, please visit: https://teamcenter.hincapie.com and follow Jen’s directions from Facebook.  Once we reach the minimums we will place the order.  We’ve got a couple ride options for you this weekend;  on Saturday Kristine Papamichael will be leading a ride to Bear Mountain (100mi) that will leave the 14th St. Pier at 6am.  On Sunday Mike Frank will be leading a ride (40-60 miles) that will leave the 14th St. Pier at 7am.  Happy Training!

Weekly News Update 6/14

Congrats to our GCTri members who raced last weekend at Eagleman, Lap the Lake, NJ Highlands Gran Fondo and Jersey Genesis.  At Eagleman we had Dave Doherty (5:08), Kevin Portmann (4:40), and Courtney Anderson (5:29); Heather Cameron had an awesome swim at Lap the Lake (5th overall female , 4th AG); Glenn Hartrick took 1st overall at Jersey Genesis; At the NJ Highlands Gran Fondo we had John Argueta (4:09), Carlos Buenano (3:53) and Heather Cameron.  Please remember to keep sharing your results with us on the website –  http://www.gctri.org/race-results/submit-results/ Good luck to all GCTri members competing in Wyckoff-Franklin Triathlon, the Long Branch Triathlon and any other races this weekend!  Hincapie orders have arrived! Pick up your gear from our sponsor, Fleet Feet of Hoboken (604 Washington St).  If you weren’t able to order back in March but would like Hincapie gear, please let Jen or Kristine know what you’re interested in purchasing.  If we reach the minimums we will place another order.  Don’t forget about Fleet Feet’s exclusive GCTri member discount night on Wednesday 6/19 @ 8pm. Pizza and beer will be served so you need to RSVP on the facebook invite or on the club calendar.  We’re all about ride options this weekend;  Saturday we’ve got multiple rides heading out: Kristine Papamichael will be leading a ride to Bear Mountain (100mi) that will leave the 14th St. Pier at 6am.  RJ Boergers will be leading a ride to Nyack (60mi), and Mike Haskell will be leading a ride to Palisades Park (20mi) : both these rides will leave the 14th St. Pier at 7am.  Happy Training!
