Weekly Newsletter

Hello All,
This weekend we will not have any group workouts outside due to the pending storms coming our way.  Don’t forget our newest run workout that was started this past week.  Every Tuesday morning Mike will be leading a hill run meeting at Fleet Feet at 6:15 AM.  Build your strength up now so when the track is finally cleared, you will be ready!

GC Tri is almost out of official visors.  Please email merchandise at gctri.org if you are interested in purchasing a visor or a hat!   If you are interested in purchasing the 2011 GC Tri racing kit please email Rich at ricbean01 at gmail dot com.  We are finalizing to our order from Sugoi so please let Rich know your size so we can be sure to have the right inventory.
Finally, please mail in your 2011 GC Tri Registration to 358 6th St Apt 1L Hoboken, NJ 07030 or drop it off at the pool.  The registration is downloadable.  We will have ID cards this year to help our sponsors provide discounts to club members.
Happy Training.

Happy Hour

It’s cold out there! Need inspiration to wake up at 5:30am for those bike rides or runs? And how about going to the pool in this weather? Not cool; no one likes frozen hair.

So let’s have a Happy Hour! Don’t worry, you can call it a Triathlon Event.

Details
What: Gold Coast Tri Club Happy Hour
When: 26 January 2011 from 7:30 until your curfew to wake up for that 5:30am run
Where: Green Rock (70 Hudson Street, Hoboken, NJ 07030)

I hope to see you all there.

Weekly Newsletter (1/11 version)

Don’t forget to send in your 2011 GC Tri Registration which is attached.  This year we will be giving out membership cards so our local sponsors will know who to give out discounts to.  You can mail your registration to 358 6th St Apt 1L Hoboken, NJ 07030 or just drop them off at Stevens Pool.  And if you want to purchase a GC Tri hat or Visor, feel free to send in the $20 with your registration and Andrew will deliver your merchandise personally!

While signing up for the club remember to order an awesome GCTri Race Kits this year.  The kits are made by Sugoi, a manufacturer of high-end triathlon, cycling and running gear.  There is more information available on the Gctri website, http://www.gctri.org/?p=376.

No matter what speed you go, you need to look good.  What better way to look good than to purchase your very own GCTri race kit.  Worth noting, if you don’t want the full setup you can order only a top or only a bottom.
As you consider purchasing this fine piece of merchandise keep this in mind:  Would you rather be wearing boring, plain, black spandex and a top with some random company’s logo plastered across the front (who really doesn’t care about you)?  Or would you rather wear a well-designed, comfortable, flashy kit, with the club’s name (who’s members you’ve trained and drank with) which shows your support for one of the premier triathlon clubs in the mid-atlantic?

Email me directly with your size information, ricbean01 at gmail.   No money is due yet, we’re still getting a head count.  For those of you who have emailed me, thank you.

Happy Training,
GC Tri

Hill Workout

Welcome to 2011.  Yes, I have been slacking on posting information on the website and I apologize.  Andrew Shore will be leading a run leaving from Fleet Feet at 615am headed to Steven’s for some hill repeats.  This will help build leg strength for the upcoming season.  The workout will be finished by 7am or whenever you stop.

Weekly Newsletter&Weekend Ride

Hello All,

This weekend will be the final group ride of 2010. Join Rich and Andrew C at 8:00 AM on Saturday morning at the 14th St Ferry in Hoboken. Saturday is supposed to be the warmest day of the week so take advantage.

As this will be the final newsletter of the year, GC Tri just wants to thank all the volunteers who have helped make the club run smoothly. Thanks to Mike, Megan and Nicole for organizing all the track workouts along with all of our bike group leaders! GC Tri is the only non-profit club in the New York City area and thanks to the volunteers, we plan to keep it that way!

Finally, don’t forget to order your official GC Tri hat or visor made by headsweats at . Also, email Rich at ricbean01atgmail if you are interested in getting the first official GC Tri racing kits by Sugoi.

Happy Training and Happy Holidays!
