Weekly Newsletter 5/16/14

Congrats to our GCTri teammates who had awesome finishes at the HOHA 5 Mile Classic last weekend: Heather Cameron (39:32), Diane Berry (50:59), Anthony DeSantis (40:19), Christina Ippolito (43:35), Christine Hadermayer (38:31).    Please remember to submit your results to the club website http://www.gctri.org/race-results/submit-results/ It’s a big week of racing this weekend!  Good luck to our teammates at Jerseyman, Harryman, Red Bank Triathlon, IRONMAN Texas 70.3 and Gran Fondo NY.

We’ve got a great week in store for you!  On Monday 5/19, Nicci Schock will be speaking at the Triathlete Nutrition Seminar at 7pm at The Running Company.  On Thursday 5/22, we will be having a social at 7pm (location TBD based on weather – hopefully we can go somewhere outside – stay tuned for more information).  If you haven’t made a track workout yet you don’t know what you’re missing.  It’s extremely motivating when you see over 20 of your teammates working hard; there’s plenty of different pace groups so stop by!

Rides this weekend:  Please keep in mind that Gran Fondo NY is on Sunday so 9W is going to be closed! On Saturday we have 2 rides scheduled: 8:00am – Raphael will be leading an “A” ride to Nyack (~50mi); at 8:30am – Lisa will be leading a “B”ride to Nyack (~50mi).  All rides depart from the 14th St. ferry pier.  Please keep on eye on the group FB page and club calendar for other additional options.

Weekly News Update 8/2

Congratulations to GCTri members who competed at IRONMAN Lake Placid (one of our club designated races).  We finished 2nd out of 14 teams in Division III in the TriClub Challenge. This Saturday we have a couple options for rides: RJ will be leading a 60mi ride (~18mph avg) to Nyack that will leave the 14th St. Pier at 7am.  John Argueta and Nicci Schock will be leading a 30 mile (Newbie friendly ~14mph avg) ride that will depart from Weehawken Track at 8am.  Happy Training!

Weekly News Update 7/25

Congratulations to GCTri members who competed at the NJ State Triathlon (one of our club designated races).  We finished 9th out of 25 in the Team Up Challenge this year for participation (really could have used Hartrick’s points).  At the Sprint Race we had: Brad Roberts, Sean Greene, John Argueta, Dani Rossi, Heather Cameron, Jenny Altagracia, Kirsten Greene, Hoda Osman; At the Olympic Race we had: Steve Su, Mike Satz, Dave Calabrese (7th AG), Matt Mustich, Gabby Czernik (2nd AG), Maria Wedgeworth, Jared Manks, Mike D’Imperio, RJ Boergers, Jamie Brabston (1st AG), Nicole Ogrosso (7th AG), Dave Pietrangelo, Cheryl Tarbous, Margaret Grandstaff, Sara Press (her triathlon debut!); At IRONMAN Racine 70.3  we had Jim Englert (6:04); At Pequannock Sprint we had Marc Hourican (7th OA, 1st AG). Nutritional Survey

If you missed the club kickoff social this weekend then you missed our special guest Leif Arnesen with bire nutrition. We are serving as a focus group for him and will be a product testing group in the near future as he moves into the development phase.
