Hello All,
GC Tri had a large contingent head up to Timberman 70.3 this past weekend with some amazing results.  Megan Wiseman won her AG earning a slot to Clearwater.  Scott Duprex had our highest overall placing finishing in 4:31.  A big thanks to Mike D for bringing home Cheryl in their first 70.3 event.  Congrats also to Jen Jones for finishing her first ever half ironman.  Everyone else finished with either a PR or made their goal times which was awesome considering the rain factor: Andrew C, Nicci, Kristin Hespos, Simon Webster, Julian, Michael Goldman, and Nicole.

Don’t forget that next week Stevens Masters switches to Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings.  Because of this we will switch our track workouts from Tuesday morning to Wednesday morning.  We will continue to have weekday bike rides until it becomes too cold.  Andrew will be leading the Thursday morning rides leaving at 5:40 AM from the 14th St Ferry.
Happy Training,

Hello All,
Congrats to Mike Frank for taking 39th overall and 4th in his age group at the Long Branch Tri this past weekend.  Congrats as well to Eyal for taking 17th overall and 3rd in his age group at the NY Tri Series #2.  Keep up the good work everyone!
This weekend is a big weekend of racing for GC Tri so there will be no official leader for the ride on Saturday.  I know Griffin and the Flying Dutchman will want some company though and they will be leaving the 14th St Ferry in Hoboken at 7:00 AM.

Good luck to everyone racing Timberman 70.3 this weekend!  GC Tri will be up there in full force with about 15 racers.  Look for the GC Tri Tent near the finish line to meet up with your fellow club members.

Hello All,
GC Tri had another awesome weekend of racing.  At Born to Tri on Saturday Megan Wiseman defended her women’s overall title and Scott Duprex took 3rd overall.  Jen Jones also landed a spot on the overall podium taking 3rd for the women.  We also had some successful AG podiums with Andrew winning the 25-29 men, Griffin took 3rd in the 30-34 men with JD taking 5th and Dave Cruz in 8th.  Simon Webster took a solid 13th his AG, Emily Woo won the 20-24 women and Lindsay McKenna won the 25-29.
On Sunday we had a solid group make it out to the Turkey Swamp Run.  Scott and Andrew took 5th and 6th in the 20 miler while Will, Simon and Eva all had awesome performances in the 25K.  A special shout out for Mike D who got his first DNF as he assisted a fallen runner to the ambulance and decided to call it a day 11 miles into his race.  Congrats also to Christine and everyone else who raced at the JerseyGirl triathlon!

Hello All,
This past weekend we had some great results at NJ State Olympic and Lake Placid Ironman.  At the NJ State Griffin took the 3rd fastest swim of the race, Cheryl was able to break 3 hours for the first time, Eva took 3rd on the bike in her age group, and Kristin had another great performance finishing in just over 3 hours.  Great job to everyone in the heat!  At Lake Placid Megan, JD, Eoin, Eyal, and Norm all put out best times and inspired 13 more members of the club to sign up for next year!  Megan just missed a slot to Kona, but still put in a great performance finishing in 10:56.  Eyal was right on her heals coming in at 10:59.  Eoin and Norm finished close as well in 11:34 and 11:38 respectively.  J.D. had a great first Ironman finishing in 12:22.
On the racing front, Andrew Shore will be co-captaining a team of racers at the Clamman this year.  It will be Monmouth County vs the World.  We will be competing for the world and need to show the Jersey Shore what’s up.  All you have to do is sign up at www.jsmultisport.com and let Andrew know if you want to join the team.  Just send an email to to let him know you are in.
Good luck to everyone racing at Belmar and the River to Sea Relay this weekend!
