Weekly Newsletter 3/27/15

Congratulations to our teammates that raced last weekend: at the Caesar Rodney Half Marathon – Matt Bach (1:16, 4th OA), at the Shamrock Half Marathon in VA Beach – Diane Berry (2:17), Thomas Porrovecchio, Deirdre McGuinness, and Peggy McGuinness and at the NJ Ultra Festival 50 miler – Lyndsey Dore (14:17)!

Official weekend group rides will begin in April. However, a few club members are looking to get outside on Sunday. Please coordinate through the Facebook page if you are looking to ride this weekend.

Good luck this weekend to Diane Berry at the VA Beach Shamrock Half Marathon and Lyndsey Dore running a 50 miler at the NJ Ultra Festival!

Tomorrow (March 21st) is the March social at Pilsener Haus & Biergarten in Hoboken at 4pm. Come meet the team when they aren’t in spandex and hear about everyone’s upcoming race season!

Due to the potential snow, there are currently no group rides scheduled for this weekend. A decision will be made on Monday regarding the Tuesday morning track workout. If the track is not clear, we will run hill repeats instead.

There are no official club rides planned for this weekend (however, they should be starting soon). Please feel free to use the Facebook page and club calendar to get some people together if you want to get outside and ride.

Tuesday morning run workouts are most likely going to be back at the track this week! Confirmation of the location and workout will be sent on Monday.

Nicole Ogrosso and Lauren Kruk are leading a group run in Central Park tomorrow (3/7/15) in preparation for the NYC Half Marathon. All speeds are welcome! We will run the loop in Central Park for about an hour. The group will meet at Columbus Circle at 9:30am. The weather is finally looking better for this Tuesday’s hill repeats. We meet at the Castle Point Gate at 6am (entrance to Stevens campus on 6th Street or the top of the stairs from Sinatra Drive). Only a few more weeks until spring arrives and we switch back to track workouts!

There will be an in-person option to participate at Wheelhaus Bikegarten (720 Monroe Street, Hoboken, NJ), virtual options for those on their trainers (or at a studio of their choice), and also an after-party! The February social is tomorrow, February 21st at 4pm at Barcade in Jersey City. There will be awesome raffles for paying members like 1 free entry to Atlantic City Triathlon, 1 free entry to Tri the Wildwoods, and 1 free Relay entry at Challenge AC!

Last call for yoga classes! We still need more participants before we could commit to classes. Devotion Yoga on Hudson Place in Hoboken can have us back for group Yoga for Runners on either Tuesday nights at 8pm or Sunday nights at 7pm. It will be pre-paid online for a package of classes (5 classes for approximately $50 or $60 and the more people, the cheaper it will be). Please message Nicole if you are interested and on which night(s).
