Congratulations to Matt Vella (6:37) at IRONMAN 70.3 St. Croix, John Palmer (3:25) at the New Jersey Devilman Half Lite Triathlon, Mike Menter (1:33 – 2nd AG), Steve Rosselli (1:39 – 3rd AG), Melani Tankel (1:58 – 5th AG) at the Rock the River Palisades Half Marathon and Nicole Ogrosso (22:05 – 2nd Female) and Julie Percifield (28:07 – 5th AG) at the Rock the River Palisades 5k!

These important safety skills will also be reviewed at the Transitions and Bike Skills Clinic on Saturday, May 9th, at 4pm in Liberty State Park.  Please see the event flyer on the Facebook page and club calendar for more information.

On Saturday, RJ is leading a 70 mile A speed drop ride to Rockland Lake via Tweed leaving from the 14th Street Pier in Hoboken at 8:00am.  Deb is leading a 45 mile no drop C ride beginning in Palisades Park at the Ross Dock Picnic Area at 8:00am as well.  If you’re looking to ride Sunday or at another time, please post club calendar! http://www.gctri.org/race-calendar/

Thursday morning group rides start next week (5/14) and depart from the 14th Street Pier in Hoboken at 5:30am. These rides go north on River Road to Palisades Park for some hill repeats at Ross Dock. If the gate to the park is closed, hill repeats will be done on Pershing Road instead. Don’t forget bike lights!

Save the date: Thursday, May 21st at 7pm will be our next social event at Cooper’s Union in Hoboken.

There are a few group ride options this weekend. On Saturday RJ is leading a 58 mile A- drop ride to Nyack (through Palisades Park and Tweed) leaving from the 14th Street Pier in Hoboken at 7:30am. Diane is leading a 3.5-4 hour no-drop C ride on Saturday at 8:00am. This ride will meet at the Fort Lee Historic Park parking lot off of Hudson Terrace (next to the GW Bridge). Congratulations to everyone that raced this weekend! At the Unite Half Marathon we had Glenn Hartrick make his comeback to racing on his hand cycle and finished in an amazing time of 1:14, also racing was Matt Bach (1:13, 2nd OA), Vito Ciraco (1:56), Darren Hansen, EJ Burke, Heather Cameron, and Jenny Zarzuela. At the Stevens Cooperative School 5k, Raphael Zagury finished 2nd OA in 19:05. Please remember to share your results http://www.gctri.org/submit-results/

Sunday Debra Noble is leading a no drop C ride up to Palisades Park, leaving from the 14th Street ferry in Hoboken at 9:00 am.

The next Athlete Educational Seminar is scheduled for April 22nd at 7pm at the NJ Running Company in Hoboken. This seminar is a Beginner Triathlete Q&A Session, featuring a panel of experts from all different backgrounds ready to answer any questions related to triathlon. We encourage all members to attend, especially those new to the sport!

Good luck to Glenn Hartrick, EJ Burke, Heather Cameron, Jenny Zarzuela, and anyone else racing this weekend at the Unite Half Marathon!

Come and wish Glenn luck in person on Saturday at the 2N’s SpiNNing4GleNN event! The event starts at 1:30pm at Wheelhaus Bikegarten. There are still spots open to spin and you could even register at the event. Even if you can’t spin at Wheelhaus, you could still make a donation to help us reach our goal! Everyone is also invited to the after party and April social event at the Tilted Kilt in Hoboken starting at 2:30pm or after their spinning session is complete. If you cannot make the event, we would love to still see you at the after party! There will be an awesome, fully donated, silent auction! Bid on an Equinox Gym membership, metabolic efficiency testing with Nicci Schock, a Calvin Klein Women’s Leather Jacket, two night stay at Caesars AC, Harrah’s or Bally’s, Xterra wetsuit/speedsuit, Rudy Project gear, Fleet Feet basket of running gear, an acupuncture session, and many more!

We are still in need of volunteers to help at the event. Please email Gabe at if you could help anytime between 12pm and 5pm, even if it is before or after your ride.

Lauren Kruk is leading a 10-12 mile group run Saturday morning leaving from 11th Street and Madison Street in Hoboken at 8:45am, running at 8:45 pace.

Lisa Mangino is leading a group ride (B ride, with dropping) Saturday morning leaving from the 14th Street Ferry terminal in Hoboken at 7:30am and riding for 3 hours.

Debra Noble and Lauren Kruk are leading a C ride to Liberty State Park on Sunday morning leaving from the Hoboken terminal Light Rail station (near the waterfront path) at 10am.

Kristine Papamichael is looking to ride to the state line Sunday morning, please coordinate details with her on the Facebook page if you wish to join.
