Weekly Newsletter 1/17/14

There is no Saturday morning ride scheduled for tomorrow due to the unfavorable forecast.  Tuesday morning workouts have resumed.  Check on the club calendar for details.

Are you coming to the social on Saturday at Morans?  You should- here’s why: 1.)we will be saying goodbye and good luck to long time GCTri member Missy Manning who is moving to California (I hear there will be delicious muffins brought to celebrate) 2.) we have some awesome raffle prizes 3.) find out what is planned for the year 4.) socialize with other triathletes in a spandex free environment.

Lastly, if you haven’t made it over to Fleet Feet yet to try on the Hincapie club gear – there’s still time!  On Monday, Jen will be returning the fit kit to Hincapie.  The ordering period will be closed shortly after this so that production can begin and we can get our gear before the race season.  Please be responsive to Jen’s requests when ordering so production is not held up.

Weekly Newsletter 1/10/14

Good news – the Hincapie fit kits will be located at our sponsor – Fleet Feet of Hoboken (604 Washington St.) until Monday 1/20.  After you’ve figured out your sizes please see the instructions from Jen Sheppard on how to enter the Hincapie ordering portal.

Reminder that the Kickoff Social is Saturday 1/18 at 4pm at Morans.  We have an awesome raffle planned : (free registration to NJ State Tri, Born to Tri, Blackbear Tri) and some other items to help you train – You’ve got to be there to win!  Additionally, we will have a lot of GCTri merchandise available for purchase and we will be distributing the water bottles to members who paid 2014 dues.

Thanks to members who have paid their 2014 membership dues.  Reminder, all 2013 memberships are set to expire 1/31/14 – so please re-new before then. To renew visit: http://www.gctri.org/login-2/

Weekly Newsletter 1/3/14

Congratulations to the newly elected GCTri BOD: President – RJ Boergers, Secretary – Mike Satz, CFO- Chuck Dender, Members at large – Nicci Schock & Jen Sheppard.  We also welcome Mark Smith as the weekday ride coordinator (one of our most important committees).  Special thanks to Mike Haskell, Kristine Papamichael and Andre Preotesa for all of their hard work last year.  If you’d like to volunteer for a committee please contact RJ; we can always use more help!

The Hincapie fit kits have arrived!  They will be available for you to try on triathlon & cycling gear at our sponsor – Fleet Feet of Hoboken (604 Washington St.) from Saturday 1/4 to Wednesday 1/15.  Please pay close attention to future ordering instructions from Jen Sheppard.  If we have the orders placed by 1/31 we hope we will have our gear by April.

It is time to pay your 2014 membership dues.  All 2013 memberships are set to expire 1/31/14 – so please re-new before then.  As mentioned previously, you will receive a water bottle with GCTri logo as your membership gift.  Please visit the webpage to renew: http://www.gctri.org/login-2/

The Facebook group will only be available to paying members, our sponsors, and husbands/wives (our support team is critical) as of 1/31/14 – all others will be dropped.  This policy was created when we noticed an imbalance between our RaceReach roster and our Facebook roster.  Why should unpaid members have some of the same benefits as the paying members?

The kickoff club social will be held on Saturday 1/18 at 4PM at Morans Pub (501 Garden St.).  We will have raffle prizes and representatives from local race companies may be joining us to give us information about their races.  Hope you can come and get energized about a great 2014 season!
