Congratulations to everyone that raced last weekend! Especially Rich Miani (3:03, 1st AG) at QuakerMan Olympic Plus Triathlon and Jenny Zarzuela (6:33) on her 1st century ride at the Twin Lights Century! Good luck to those racing at Mighty Montauk this weekend!

Save the date for our next great social event: a Brewery Run on Saturday, October 17th at 1:00pm. More details coming soon.

Unfortunately, due to the weather, there are no group rides planned for this weekend.

Weekly Newsletter 9/25/15

Thursday morning group rides will begin at 6:00am for the remainder of the year. Same meeting spot as always, and remember bike lights are mandatory!

Weekend rides: On Saturday we have the Tour de Defiant Brewery. You won’t want to miss it! The group will depart at 10am for the 30 mile ride up to our delicious destination. Please see Lisa Mangino’s emails for full details, and keep an eye out for updated cue sheets to come later today. Currently there are no rides posted for Sunday. Please organize rides via Facebook and the club calendar (for our members without FB). Weekly Newsletter 9/18/15

Congratulations to everyone that raced last weekend! As usual, GCTri had another impressive weekend of racing! At IRONMAN Wisconsin, Julie Percifield completed her 1st IRONMAN in 13:08, Gabrielle Rasure finished Challenge Cedar Point Half in 6:25, Derek Barnes ran the Lehigh Valley Marathon in 3:27, and David Pietrangelo finished 3rd in his age group at the Hightstown Sprint Triathlon. Good luck to those racing at Meters for Mike Open Water Mile and Long Beach Island Triathlon!

Unfortunately, the Donut Ride is canceled for this Saturday, but come hang out with the club members when they aren’t wearing spandex! The club social is still on at Maxwell’s Tavern in Hoboken starting at 2pm on Saturday, 9/19.

Mark your calendars for a really fun event – the 2nd annual Tour de Defiant! On Saturday, 9/26, we will be riding up to Defiant Brewery for a little bike and brew (and taking NJ Transit trains home).

There are no official group rides planned for this weekend, but don’t forget that Tuesday morning track workouts and Thursday morning group rides are still on every week throughout the fall. Track workouts meet at 5:45am at 9th St. and Park Ave. in Hoboken or at the Weehawken track at 6:00am. Group rides meet at 5:45am outside the 14th St. ferry on Frank Sinatra Drive. Bike lights are mandatory to attend group rides.

Good luck to our teammates racing at IRONMAN Wisconsin, Challenge Cedar Point, Toughman NY, and Iron Girl Sandy Hook this weekend!

Congratulations to Darla Mercado (1:19, 3rd AG) at the Medford Lakes Aquabike and David Calabrese (2:19, 1st AG) and Sheila Monaghan (2:18, 2nd Female) at the at the Jersey City Olympic Triathlon and Renee Santos (1:51, 2nd AG) at the Jersey City Sprint Triathlon last weekend!

Congratulations to those that raced last weekend! At the Belmar Tri/Du for Autism: Jamie Rice (1:07) and Kristine Golden (1:14, 2nd AG); and at the River to Sea Relay: Team #RJhateshashtags (Lauren Kruk, RJ Boergers, Diane Berry, Matt Vella, Lyndsey Dore, John Callahan, Nicole Ogrosso) finished 6th in the coed division (12:14), Team What the Kruk (Nicci Schock, Julie Percifield, Jesse Dean, Jenny Zarzuela, Lauren Karstens, Heather Cameron, Mike Menter) was 20th coed team (13:32), and the Not Kruks (Andrew Corcione, Stephen Rosselli, Darren Hansen, John Palmer, Ryan Mitchell, David Calabrese, Mark Smith) finished 14th in the male team division (11:03).
